Gasless Transactions Debut on TON Blockchain with New Wallet Standard

The TON blockchain now supports gasless transactions thanks to the W5 smart wallet standard, created by Tonkeeper and approved by the TON Core team. This advancement allows transactions using USDT and Notcoin for gas fees, removing the necessity to hold toncoin.

Easing User Onboarding

The W5 wallet standard, a collaboration between the TON Core team and Tonkeeper, aims to streamline user onboarding and reduce entry barriers to the TON blockchain. Users can pay transaction fees with USDT when sending USDT and use Notcoin for gas fees when transferring Notcoin.

Enhanced Capabilities

This new standard also offers advanced parallel processing, enabling users to execute up to 255 transactions at once. This capability opens new possibilities, such as transferring multiple NFTs to various collectors or managing numerous decentralised subscriptions seamlessly.

Improved Security and Usability

Future Rollout Plans

Currently live on Tonkeeper, the W5 smart wallet standard will soon be available on other self-custodial wallets like TON Space and MyTonWallet. This development aligns with TON’s report of 5.8 million monthly active on-chain wallets and a surge in daily active addresses due to the popularity of Telegram mini-games.
