CZ Hints at Altcoin Rally Amid Soaring Index
Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, CZ is asking fans to not FOMO ("Fear of Missing out") for the Altcoin season, which he claims is imminent.
His comments come after CoinMarketCap's Altcoin season Index jumped from 38 points to 51 points.
While it usually takes a score of 75 points and above to indicate an official Altcoin season, but CZ and many other experts claim that the momentum which the altcoin is gaining traction is signs of a growing market rotation.
Bitcoin Loses Its Dominance As Investors Pivots To Altcoins?
Experts have also cited the softening of Bitcoin's dominance as another telltale sign of an imminent an Altcoin season.
During its peak, Bitcoin controlled nearly 65.5% of the global $4 trillion cryptocurrency market.
But Bitcoin's dominance is slipping, with Bitcoin only dominating roughly 61% of the crypto market, represents a significant slice of the pie.
The recent drop in Bitcoin's dominance also coincided with strong performance from major altcoins.
For example, Ethereum has jumped 20% to $3,600, while XRP has surged 23% to $3.46 over the past week, hitting a record high.
All these signs point toward a shifting sentiment from Bitcoin-dominated periods to broader altcoins rallies.
Analysts Urge Caution, Say Indicators Aren’t Fully Triggered
While social media is abuzz with claims that “Altseason” has arrived, some remain skeptical.
As X user Henry observed,
“Everyone is saying ALTSEASON has started, but if you look at indicators, they say ~ Not yet.”
He notes that, despite bullish momentum, none of the 30 major bull market indicators—including Puell, MVRV Z-Score, and Mayer Multiple—have officially signaled a market top.
The Altcoin Season Index, at 51, suggests momentum but not an established trend.
The sentiment was echoed by Akshat Vaidya, CIO of venture capital firm Maelstrom, who explained
“we’re seeing early signals of an ‘altcoin season,’ but it’s not fully underway yet."
