David Plouffe, previously an adviser to President Obama and a member of Binance's Global Advisory Board, has been recruited by Kamala Harris for her campaign. However, he will not oversee the entire campaign.
A representative confirmed that Plouffe's role is limited and he is not serving as a senior advisor for the entire campaign.
Harris's Outreach to Crypto Firms
Since becoming the Democratic nominee after Biden's exit, Harris has been reaching out to major crypto firms such as Coinbase, Ripple, and Circle. She aims to mend relations with the industry, promoting a “pro-business, responsible business” stance.
Winklevoss Twins' Criticism
The Winklevoss twins, founders of Gemini exchange, are sceptical of Harris's efforts. Cameron Winklevoss called her outreach insincere, while Tyler Winklevoss accused Democrats of mistreating the crypto industry.
Potential VP Pick Anti-Crypto
Senator Gary Peters, known for his anti-crypto stance and co-sponsoring strict money laundering regulations, is rumoured to be Harris's vice-presidential pick. He holds an “F” rating from the digital asset advocacy group, Stand With Crypto.
