Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his dissatisfaction with how the debate unfolded. He criticised the debate hosts for their handling of Trump and acknowledged Harris’s performance. However, Musk argued that Trump would be more effective in implementing significant changes. He accused Harris of making no substantial progress and suggested that President Joe Biden’s frequent absences mean Harris is effectively in charge.

Musk also voiced concerns about the future of innovation under current regulatory frameworks. He warned that without substantial government reform, laws and regulations could stifle major projects, including high-speed rail and space exploration.
He highlighted Trump’s support for a government efficiency commission aimed at advancing ambitious projects, contrasting this with Harris’s stance. Musk concluded with a dire prediction: if Harris wins, he believes humanity’s grand aspirations, such as reaching Mars, could be severely jeopardised.
