CFTC and SEC Consider Relocation to Shared Washington Complex

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are reportedly in discussions about relocating to the same building complex in Washington, D.C., according to BlockBeats. This complex is situated near Union Station and a short distance from the U.S. Capitol. Sources familiar with the matter indicate that the plan does not involve merging the two regulatory bodies, which oversee different markets. Instead, the discussions focus on moving the CFTC into the building currently occupied by the SEC. The relocation talks began last year, and implementation might not occur until 2027 at the earliest.
