European Nations Deploy Naval Forces to Cyprus Amid Rising Tensions

On March 11, the Italian Navy frigate 'Federico Martinengo' arrived in Cypriot waters, carrying over 160 personnel after departing from the southern Italian port of Taranto last week. According to Jin10, this deployment follows a drone attack on the British Royal Air Force base in Akrotiri, Cyprus, on March 2, which resulted in limited damage. The attack occurred after military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran. In response, Greece, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Italy have announced the deployment of naval forces to Cyprus to bolster the country's defense capabilities.
