Strategy's Bitcoin Acquisition Plan Aims for 1 Million by 2026

Strategy currently holds 738,731 bitcoins and aims to reach 1 million by the end of 2026. According to PANews, to achieve this goal, the company needs to acquire an additional 261,269 bitcoins over the next 42 weeks, averaging about 6,158 bitcoins per week. Based on an average price of $85,000 per bitcoin, the total investment would be approximately $22.2 billion. Recent purchasing trends suggest that this target is attainable. Last week, Strategy acquired 17,994 bitcoins, and this week, the issuance of STRC preferred stock indicates a potential purchase of around 11,000 bitcoins. Since initiating its Bitcoin treasury strategy in August 2020, Strategy has been acquiring an average of 10,700 bitcoins per month. So far in 2026, the company has purchased approximately 64,948 bitcoins, significantly exceeding historical annual averages.
