The Ethereum Foundation has announced a proposed update known as the Fast Confirmation Rule, aimed at significantly reducing deposit times between Ethereum Layer 1 and Layer 2, as well as exchanges. According to NS3.AI, this mechanism could decrease wait times by approximately 80–98% by utilizing attestations rather than blocks. The Ethereum Foundation intends to implement this update in the coming months.
