Meta Platforms Plans Company-Wide Layoffs and Focuses on Hiring Machine Learning Engineers

According to PANews, an internal memo reveals that Meta Platforms, the owner of Facebook, is set to implement anticipated company-wide layoffs next week while accelerating the recruitment of machine learning engineers. The memo indicates that layoff notifications in most countries, including the United States, will begin at 5 a.m. local time on Monday. Employees in Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands will not be affected due to local regulations. Meanwhile, staff in over a dozen other countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa will receive notifications between February 11 and February 18.
