Hong Kong's Blockchain Sector Sees 250% Growth Since 2022

According to PANews, a recent report by Hong Kong's InvestHK and its partners reveals a significant 250% growth in Hong Kong's blockchain applications and software industry since 2022. This surge underscores Hong Kong's emerging role as a leading center for fintech and digital asset development in Asia. The report analyzed 1,100 fintech companies operating in Hong Kong as of July 2024, highlighting substantial growth across various fintech sub-sectors. Currently, Hong Kong hosts 175 blockchain companies, with the applications/software sector experiencing remarkable expansion over the past two years. Additionally, the digital assets and cryptocurrency segment has increased by nearly 30%. Hong Kong now boasts the highest number of fintech companies in areas such as wealth technology, blockchain, digital assets and cryptocurrencies, payments and remittances, and other fintech enterprise solutions.
