This transition marks the end of the narrative surrounding parachain slot auctions, addressing high entry barriers present in the 1.0 version. Key changes include the elimination of slot auctions, compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) environment, and enhanced liquidity. The new flexible expansion model will replace slot auctions, offering developers a more adaptable entry method. Polkadot Hub's growth plan is anticipated to launch in the first quarter of 2026, during which the inflation rate of DOT is expected to decrease to 3.1%.
