This development follows the confirmation of Michael Selig as the new chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). David Sacks, a prominent figure in the administration, highlighted the significance of this moment in a recent post on X, describing it as a 'critical juncture' for crypto regulation. Sacks praised the collaboration between Selig and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Paul Atkins, referring to them as a 'dream team' poised to define clear regulatory guidelines. Selig has indicated that the U.S. Congress is nearing the completion of a crypto market structure bill, which could significantly impact the regulatory landscape. The proposed market structure bill, known as the Responsible Financial Innovation Act in the Senate, builds upon the CLARITY Act passed by the House of Representatives in July.
