WHO Reports First Patients Transferred from Gaza to Egypt via Rafah Crossing

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that the first group of five patients has been transferred from Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah crossing. According to RTHK, the passage to Egypt was reopened yesterday, allowing the transfer. A WHO spokesperson stated that the five patients, accompanied by seven healthcare workers, traveled to Egypt via Rafah. It was noted that over 18,500 patients are still awaiting transfer, suffering from injuries due to conflict, cancer, diabetes, and other conditions. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) highlighted that more than 3,000 of these patients are children. The Gaza health authorities are currently determining the priority for treatment.
