Dollar Index Softens as Yen Hits Two-Week Low

The dollar index showed a slight decline, trading earlier at 97.701, marking a decrease of nearly 0.2%. According to RTHK, the Japanese yen fell to a two-week low against the dollar following the Japanese government's appointment of two scholars known for advocating economic stimulus policies to the central bank's review committee. This move has heightened market concerns about further interest rate hikes. Earlier, the yen dropped 0.36% against the dollar, trading at 156.44 yen. Meanwhile, the euro rose by 0.3% against the dollar, reaching 1.1806 dollars. The British pound remained at the 1.3558 dollar level.
