Eric Banks Sentenced for Role in $1.13 Million U.S. Treasury Check Theft

Eric Banks, aged 71, has confessed to the theft of a U.S. Treasury check valued at approximately $1.13 million, as well as aiding others in laundering additional stolen funds, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). According to NS3.AI, the DOJ revealed that seven other individuals, whom Banks assisted, are facing separate charges related to a collective theft amounting to about $7.44 million. Banks has been sentenced to 14 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
