EU Confirms X Pays €120 Million Fine, Submits Compliance Plan

On March 19, Jin10 reported that Thomas Renier, spokesperson for the European Commission responsible for digital economy affairs, confirmed that U.S. social media platform X has paid the €120 million fine imposed by the EU last December before the deadline. According to Jin10, X has also submitted a compliance plan regarding its 'blue check' verification feature. Despite the payment, the spokesperson noted that X is still appealing the penalty.
