Iran's Foreign Minister: Strait of Hormuz Closed to U.S. and Israeli Vessels

On March 24, Iran's Foreign Minister Araqchi engaged in a phone conversation with Malaysia's Foreign Minister Hassan to discuss regional tensions, particularly the consequences and economic impacts of U.S. and Israeli aggression towards Iran. According to Jin10, Araqchi reaffirmed Iran's commitment to defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized that Iran has implemented measures in accordance with international law in the Strait of Hormuz. The strait is closed to vessels belonging to or associated with the U.S. and Israel, as well as any parties involved in or assisting their military aggression against Iran. However, other vessels can ensure safe passage by coordinating with relevant Iranian authorities. Malaysia's Foreign Minister underscored Malaysia's principled stance in condemning U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran and reiterated the necessity of reducing tensions and restoring regional stability and security.
