Bitcoin Linked to Irish Drug Dealer Moves After Nearly a Decade

According to Odaily, 500 BTC associated with Irish drug dealer Clifton Collins have been moved on the blockchain after being considered lost for nearly 10 years. Collins acquired 6,000 BTC between 2011 and 2012 using proceeds from cannabis sales, distributing them across 12 wallets. He recorded the private keys on paper, which he hid in a fishing rod case at a rental property in Galway, Ireland. Following his arrest in 2017, the property was cleared, and his belongings were sent to a landfill. Both authorities and Collins believed the keys were permanently lost, leading the court to confiscate the funds as criminal proceeds. The recent transfer of 500 BTC suggests that at least part of the assets may not have been lost.
