A food poisoning incident has affected over 600 individuals in Osaka's Kumatori Town, according to reports from Japanese media. According to RTHK, since the 19th of this month, students and staff from eight local primary and secondary schools have experienced symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting. Local health authorities have detected the presence of norovirus in some of the affected individuals. The same virus was also found in employees of the company supplying school meal bread to the entire district. Health officials believe the outbreak was caused by contaminated school meal bread, leading to a five-day suspension of operations for the implicated production company.
