According to Foresight News, EigenLayer has unveiled a new security model for its protocol. The previous model allowed all operator stakes to be slashed by any Arbitrary Verification System (AVS) without specifying the slashing proportion, and AVS itself required permission to join the network. The updated security model permits operators to join a group of AVS and set a slashing proportion for each AVS, ensuring the total proportion is less than one. This approach aims to better control slashing risks and protect the corresponding AVS stakes. Additionally, AVS can now join without permission while still being compensated for their stakes.
