Soneium Announces Major Upgrades to Enhance Security and Efficiency

According to Foresight News, Sony's Layer 2 project, Soneium, has announced two significant upgrades scheduled for the end of this month. The upgrades, named Granite and Fjord, will be implemented through dual hard forks and will update the Layer 1 contract to version 1.6.0. Soneium stated that these upgrades aim to improve the project's security and efficiency. Additionally, they will prepare Soneium Minato for integration into the Superchain and facilitate the expansion of the Soneium ecosystem alongside other OP Layer 2 solutions. The upgrades will also enable Superchain governance to oversee future Layer 1 contract upgrades, thereby enhancing the decentralization of the ecosystem.
