Spanish Police Dismantle Cryptocurrency Scam Using AI

According to PANews, Spanish authorities have arrested six individuals involved in a cryptocurrency investment scam that defrauded 208 victims of over 19 million euros (21.5 million dollars). The arrests followed a two-year investigation into the group, which used artificial intelligence to create realistic videos of celebrities promising substantial returns on crypto investments to lure potential investors. The suspects face charges of fraud, money laundering, and falsification of documents, with the investigation still ongoing.
