Blockchain security auditing firm CertiK is exploring the possibility of an initial public offering (IPO), targeting a valuation of approximately $2 billion. Ronghui Gu, co-founder of CertiK and associate professor of computer science at Columbia University, stated in an interview this week in Davos, Switzerland, that while a specific listing timeline has not yet been established, an IPO has become a clear goal for the company. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in New York, CertiK primarily provides smart contract auditing and security services for blockchain projects. Its most recent funding round occurred in 2022, when it raised $88 million in a Series B3 funding round led by Insight Partners, Tiger Global, and Advent International, valuing the company at $2 billion. Ronghui Gu stated that Binance is CertiK's earliest and currently largest financial backer, and its investors also include Coinbase and SoftBank.
