Ethereum veterans are set to convert approximately 75,000 ETH from decade-old recovery funds into a staked endowment aimed at financing smart contract security across Ethereum and its layer-2 ecosystem. According to NS3.AI, this fund originates from leftover balances following TheDAO 2016 hard fork and is expected to generate an annual yield of $7.8 to $11.1 million. This yield will support ongoing security efforts without the need to liquidate the principal. The initiative signifies a shift towards institutional-scale security funding, reinforcing Ethereum's goal of becoming a global financial platform.
