Bloomberg: Nomura's European business turned to a loss due to the decline in crypto assets and has tightened its management of positions and risk exposure.

A Nomura Holdings executive said the company has strengthened risk controls on its cryptocurrency business after its European operations turned unprofitable due to setbacks in the digital asset market. Chief Financial Officer Hiroyuki Moriuchi said on Friday's conference call reviewing quarterly results: "We have tightened management of our positions and risk exposure to mitigate short-term profit volatility." He added that Japan's largest brokerage firm has reduced its virtual currency holdings but remains committed to the long-term development of its cryptocurrency business. (Bloomberg)
