The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued a warning on February 5 regarding mild geomagnetic storms affecting Earth due to a strong solar flare. According to Jin10, the solar flare, which erupted on February 4, was classified as an X4.2 level flare, with 'X' denoting the highest intensity category for solar flares, and the number indicating its energy strength. Such intense solar flares typically erupt rapidly, with energy release and dissipation lasting from minutes to hours. Following the flare, significant degradation or disruption in high-frequency radio communications may occur in most sunlit areas of Earth. NOAA also reported that geomagnetic activity reached a G1 (minor) storm level on February 5, with expectations of similar G1-level geomagnetic storms on February 6 and 8.
