This document is independent of the SEC's current proposals for crypto asset issuance rules. After OIRA completes its cross-agency review, the three commissioners will vote on the document. An SEC spokesperson stated that the commission will consider developing interpretative guidance around the classification of crypto asset tokens to align with market structure legislation and ensure that investors and innovators clearly understand their regulatory obligations.
