Kuwait has reduced the operational rates of three of its refineries, according to sources cited by foreign media. According to Jin10, the reduction is due to limited storage capacity, and further production cuts may be implemented in the coming days if necessary. The ongoing conflict in Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, leading to a shortage of oil tankers and rapidly filling storage facilities. Additionally, refineries in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have been damaged, forcing them to cut processing volumes. Kuwait's Al-Zour, Mina Al-Ahmadi, and Mina Abdullah refineries have a combined processing capacity of approximately 1.4 million barrels per day, with Al-Zour being one of the largest refining facilities in the Middle East.
