South Korean boy band BTS is set to release a new album next Friday, followed by a commemorative performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul the next day. According to RTHK, the police have expressed concerns about potential terrorist attacks due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and are preparing accordingly.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they will deploy all available resources to conduct a comprehensive security check of the performance venue in advance. An analysis and response team will be established to assess threats, such as bomb threats, reported on the day of the event, and implement preemptive measures.
Authorities have also stated that they will track down individuals responsible for hoaxes that waste police resources and disrupt the event, pursuing civil claims against them.
