Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine is assisting Middle Eastern countries in defending against Iranian drone attacks, seeking financial and technological support in return. According to RTHK, Zelensky stated that Ukraine has dispatched three expert teams, each comprising several dozen technical specialists, to demonstrate the application of relevant technologies. He mentioned that over ten countries have sought Ukraine's assistance in countering these attacks, emphasizing that Ukraine is only providing technical support and is not involved in any conflict with Iran.
Zelensky has repeatedly expressed willingness to help intercept Iranian drones. However, Aziz, the head of Iran's parliamentary national security and foreign policy committee, believes that Ukraine's support to Israel regarding drones effectively involves it in the conflict, making the entire Ukrainian territory a legitimate target for Iran.
