Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Global Markets has submitted a proposal to extend trading hours for its EDGX stock and options exchange. According to Jin10, the market operator announced plans to allow trading of all listed NMS stocks on EDGX from 9 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday to 8 p.m. on Friday. The company intends to pause operations for one hour from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday. CBOE noted an increased demand for U.S. stocks outside traditional trading hours in recent years. The exchange already offers around-the-clock trading through its proprietary index futures and options, as well as global forex market operations.
