Australia's Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen announced on March 22 that six fuel tankers scheduled to arrive in Australia next month have had their voyages canceled or delayed due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. According to Jin10, Bowen stated in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that these tankers were coming from Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea. He noted that the conflict has led to 'some fluctuations' in Australia's fuel supply, and the government is working with refiners and importers to mitigate the impact.
Bowen also mentioned that Australia's current fuel reserves are slightly above pre-crisis levels, with gasoline reserves at approximately 38 days and diesel and aviation fuel reserves at around 30 days. He ruled out the possibility of implementing fuel rationing measures in the short term.
