Joseph Kent, former Director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation last Tuesday due to his opposition to U.S. and Israeli plans to attack Iran. According to Ming Pao, Kent revealed his decision during an interview on Megyn Kelly's conservative podcast last Friday, expressing readiness to face political retaliation but standing firm in his choice.
Following his resignation, reports emerged that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) might be investigating Kent for potentially leaking classified information. Kent emphasized his innocence, stating, "The facts are on my side." Despite his confidence, he voiced concerns about possible criminal charges, remarking, "We have all seen the FBI and the government suppress those who dare to speak out."
