BlackRock CEO: Tokenization could make mobile investing as simple as making payments

In his annual letter, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink stated that half the world's population carries digital wallets on their phones, and tokenization can make investments easier to issue, trade, and access by updating the financial system infrastructure, thus allowing digital wallets to also function as investment tools. Meanwhile, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last week approved Nasdaq's pilot program for tokenized stock trading. Nasdaq has also partnered with digital asset company Talos to make tokenized collateral available to institutional investors. BlackRock currently offers the largest spot Bitcoin ETF. Last year, Larry Fink likened tokenization to the shift in the investment field from postal service to email; this year, he is focusing on the investment accessibility and scalability it brings.
