Recent escalations in Middle East conflicts have led to a tightening of natural gas supplies, posing risks of production slowdowns and supply chain disruptions for major Indian automotive companies and parts suppliers. According to Jin10, over 20 executives from Indian car manufacturers, parts suppliers, and dealers have reported operational impacts due to the 'gas shortage.' Key Indian automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Mahindra are experiencing early signs of supply chain strain. At least four executives noted that some factories under Tata Motors and Mahindra are operating below normal capacity. Last week, Hindalco Industries, a supplier to Mahindra, issued a warning to its clients about potential supply disruptions due to the natural gas shortage, citing 'force majeure' risks.
