According to The Times of Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are gradually accelerating their preparations to actively participate in the fight against Iran, as the war in the Middle East threatens their economies. The report, citing the Wall Street Journal, states that Gulf states are "gradually" taking a more proactive stance after Riyadh allowed the US military to use an airbase within its borders. A source familiar with the decision-making process said that Saudi Arabia's decision to join the war was "only a matter of time." This comes after the Saudi Foreign Minister stated last week that the country's tolerance for Iranian attacks was "not without limits." Reportedly, last week, four senior officials representing different Gulf capitals told The Times of Israel that, despite initial opposition to the use of force, the Gulf states are now urging the US to continue its strikes against the Iranian regime to ensure that Iran's military is sufficiently weakened after the war, thus ceasing to pose a threat. However, these countries have not yet launched any attacks themselves, as Gulf leaders remain extremely concerned about triggering a wider and uncontrollable large-scale conflict. (Jinshi)
