Russia's Foreign Minister Criticizes U.S. Actions in the Middle East

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on March 26 that U.S. interventions in the Middle East have exacerbated the situation, according to Jin10. Lavrov condemned U.S. officials for boasting about assassination attempts on Iranian leaders, labeling such actions as hypocritical. He highlighted that the U.S. uses military bases in Arab countries of the Persian Gulf to attack Iran, yet withdraws most of its troops from these bases, betraying its allies. Lavrov emphasized that Iran and Gulf Cooperation Council countries are suffering from the consequences of U.S. and Israeli aggression, and affirmed Russia's support for the interests of Iran and all countries in the Persian Gulf region. Regarding negotiations on the Ukraine crisis, Lavrov mentioned that Russian and U.S. leaders have the capacity to reach an agreement, but talks are hindered by the EU and NATO.
