Far East Consortium Sells Stake in Melbourne Ritz-Carlton for Capital Optimization

Far East Consortium International Limited has announced the sale of a 49.9% stake in the company owning the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Melbourne, Australia, for nearly HKD 315 million. According to Ming Pao, the stake, along with associated debts, was sold to a Singapore-based holding company owned by the group's chairman, David Chiu, and his daughter, executive director Winnie Chiu. The group stated that this transaction will help realize the value of the hotel, allowing the proceeds to be utilized for capital reinvestment. Additionally, it aims to increase liquidity and reduce the group's net asset-liability ratio.
