Binance announced its participation in "Operation Atlantic," an international law enforcement operation led by the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA), joining forces with law enforcement agencies in multiple countries to combat crypto and investment scams, with a focus on "approval phishing" scams. This operation, jointly launched by the NCA, the US Secret Service, and relevant law enforcement and regulatory bodies in Ontario, Canada, aims to identify victims who have already been harmed or are at risk. Approval phishing typically involves posing as investment opportunities to trick users into granting access to their wallets, thereby transferring assets. During the operation, Binance's special investigation team provided on-site support in London, including fraud identification processes, risk screening, and intelligence analysis, and assisted in identifying potential victims and related malicious websites. Binance also provided law enforcement agencies with addresses and suspect intelligence to support asset tracking and countermeasures. The NCA stated that this operation has successfully protected thousands of potential victims in the UK and overseas. Binance emphasized that it will continue to cooperate with global law enforcement agencies to strengthen the fight against crypto scams.
