Cryptosatellite developer Cryptosat and global hackathon organizer DoraHacks have teamed up to conduct the first successful experiment of launching a zero-knowledge (ZK) proof system in space aboard the International Space Station (ISS), The Block reports. DoraHacks and Cryptosat say experiments on the International Space Station demonstrate that the satellite-based computing environment can perform part of the trusted setup process required to use the ZK proof protocol. The success of the ZK proof experiment is an important step in proving the validity of the space computing environment, according to Cryptosat, which is looking to put a fleet of CubeSats into orbit and build out its constellation.
