In his keynote address at the Economic Club of Washington, D.C., SEC Chairman Paul Atkins stated that in his first year in office, he has pushed the SEC back to its core mission of "protecting investors, maintaining market order, and promoting capital formation," while criticizing past regulations for being overly expansive and increasing market friction and uncertainty. Atkins added that the SEC is accelerating the establishment of a clear regulatory foundation for digital assets, collaborating with other regulatory agencies and Congress, and has proposed the "A-C-T" strategy, which includes advancing regulatory modernization, clarifying regulatory boundaries, and transforming the regulatory framework based on fundamental principles, to enhance the competitiveness of the U.S. market and solidify its position as a global investment and business environment.
