mETH Protocol announced the gradual cessation of operations for its Liquidity Restaking Token (LRT) cmETH to refocus on long-term protocol development. The official statement indicated that all mETH Protocol products except cmETH will continue to operate normally. cmETH holders can still redeem and perform cross-chain operations, while mETH staking users do not need to take any action. The official disclosure revealed that cmETH had grown into one of the most integrated LRTs since its launch, with a peak TVL of $620 million. However, after reassessing the current development of the restaking market, the team believes that closing cmETH is a more prudent choice. According to the timeline: cmETH minting has been closed since May 7, 2026; the final EigenLayer reward distribution will take place in mid-June 2026; and the historical cmETH event reward claim window will officially close on November 7, 2026.
