The Linux Foundation established the Open Metaverse Foundation (OMF), which aims to provide a collaborative space for different industries and is committed to developing open source software and standards for the Metaverse. Currently, ChainHub Foundation, Cloud Native Computing Foundation, Futurewei, GenXP, etc. have become founding member. OMF is specifically divided into eight basic interest groups (FIGs), namely users, transactions, digital assets, simulation and virtual worlds, artificial intelligence, networking, security and privacy, law and policy, and will provide targeted resources and forums, Used to identify new ideas, get work done, and recruit new contributors, composed of members from a specific discipline who work to advance a project or scalable technology within their topic, and ensure that each identifiable subsection of the project is addressed and managed (e.g. GitHub.org, repositories, subdirectories, APIs, tests, issues, PRs).
