According to CNBC, OpenAI said its advertising business has reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate, as the company highlighted the unit as evidence of its diversified business model. The artificial intelligence company said the ad business is about 200 days old and adds to revenue streams including enterprise offerings, consumer subscriptions and usage-based application programming interfaces. OpenAI began testing ads in ChatGPT in the U.S. in February, and said ChatGPT Ads are now available in more than 40 countries. It is rolling out self-service access across India, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa on Monday. OpenAI said the ads are clearly labeled, do not affect ChatGPT's answers and do not give advertisers access to users' private conversations.
