According to JPX official data, HKET and RTHK, Asian index futures traded higher in the overnight session after U.S. equities snapped a multi-day losing streak, with the Dow closing up 295 points. The dollar and Treasury yields eased, the yen rebounded nearly 0.8% against the dollar, spot gold gained more than 1%, and oil rose about 1% on Middle East supply concerns.
Nikkei 225 futures for the September 2026 contract ended the Osaka Exchange night session at 64,480, up 130 points, after trading between 63,720 and 64,840 on volume of 10,936 contracts; the Nikkei 225 mini September contract settled at 64,500, up 155.
In Hong Kong, Hang Seng Index futures for the September contract closed the after-hours session at 25,367, up 114 points, while the Nasdaq Golden Dragon-linked China concept gauge slipped 0.1% to 6,051. Among Hong Kong ADRs, HSBC rose more than 1% to an HK$164.59 equivalent, Meituan added 0.38% to HK$79.05 and Tencent gained 0.38% to HK$439.87, while Alibaba's U.S. shares eased 0.27% to an HK$109.61 equivalent. Southbound funds bought a net HK$4.09 billion, a sixth straight session of inflows.
Taiwan's TAIEX futures for the September contract ended the TAIFEX after-hours session at 46,336, up 171 points or 0.37%, trading between 45,686 and 46,407 on volume of 34,200 contracts.
