IP Attorney: Yuga Labs owns BAYC's copyright and grants BAYC NFT holders the right to use its IP

Jeremy Goldman, a long-time copyright and intellectual property attorney who works closely with Yuga and other top NFT projects in the industry, responded to questions about the validity of Yuga's licensing of IP to holders. Jeremy Goldman said that, first of all, Yuga Labs owns the copyright of Bored Ape Yacht Club. When the original work is fixed in a tangible medium of expression, the copyright automatically arises, including digital art stored in computer memory, regardless of whether it has been administratively registered. Second, Yuga Labs owns the copyright of the digital artwork related to BAYC NFT, and grants the holder of BAYC NFT the ownership of the digital artwork and the license to use the artwork for commercial and other purposes.
