According to the CoinGecko report, the number of layoffs in the cryptocurrency industry will reach 2,806 in January 2023, the second-highest month for layoffs, second only to 3,003 in June 2022. Among them, the number of layoffs in centralized exchanges accounted for 84% of the total number of layoffs in the industry, and the number of layoffs in 2023 may exceed the number of layoffs of nearly 7,000 in 2022. The researchers cited lower trading volumes and lower revenues as the main reasons behind the layoffs.
