Input Output Launches EVM Sidechain Proof-of-Concept Public Testnet

Cardano development company Input Output has now launched a public testnet for an EVM sidechain proof-of-concept, allowing for testing token transfers between test environments, connecting wallets and deploying smart contracts and DApps. According to official documents, the EVM sidechain testnet environment consists of two networks, namely the EVM sidechain testnet and the Cardano testnet used. In January, Input Output launched a toolkit for developing custom sidechains on Cardano, allowing developers to leverage Cardano’s security and infrastructure to create task-specific sidechains. This toolkit allows sidechains to have their own consensus algorithms and functionality. Sidechains are connected to the mainchain through bridges that allow the transfer of assets between chains.
