FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) remains on bail, but the New York judge overseeing his criminal fraud case said that could change if SBF continues to defy court-imposed bail conditions, CoinDesk reported. Prosecutors and SBF lawyers have until next Tuesday to submit new proposed guidelines for SBF bail conditions. Federal prosecutors sent a letter to the court earlier this week, alleging that SBF violated a previous court order prohibiting the use of encryption when it used a VPN to watch the Super Bowl. They urged the court to consider stricter measures, including preventing Bankman-Fried from using a cellphone, computer or any connected device, except in limited circumstances relevant to the case. At a hearing to discuss the letter on Thursday, SBF attorney Mark Cohen pushed back, calling the measures "draconian" and arguing that the SBF needs access to the internet and apps like Google Docs to effectively prepare for the upcoming trial.
