Sources: IEX is in talks with Coinbase to create a new regulated exchange

IEX stock exchange chairman Katsuyama and his staff are currently in talks with publicly traded cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase to create a federally-approved marketplace for digital assets, Fox Business reported citing sources. The original joint venture partner of the digital asset market that Katsuyama planned to create was Sam Bankman-Fried. After FTX went bankrupt in November, IEX and FTX terminated their partnership and still hope to enter the field of digital asset trading. Katsuyama, whose potential partnership with Coinbase has not been previously reported, declined to comment for this story.
